Canyon

Speech-To-Text Notes App

UX, Mobile App, Watch App, Desktop App

Canyon is an on-the-go note taking app that utilizes speech-to-text and natural language understanding (NLU) technologies.

I'm the product owner and designer for Canyon. I initiated the project when I was learning voice technology. I discovered from users that there were a lot of painpoints when using keyboard input for notes. Note taking should be a simple task, and it should be easy and quick. The objective of this project was to create a note taking app that is smart, natural, phone-suitable, typing-free, that anyone can use. The design of Canyon emphasizes the voice input method with minimal UI. It allows the user to have quick access to voice control, focus on creating their notes by talking naturally to the app.

Other features including smart learning logic for suspicious word detection, auto-paragraph, and auto-punctuation. Each note has a play-back audio clip, optional image attachment, and can merge with other notes with ease. For the viewing experience, Canyon provides fluid note layouts that allow user to view notes with simple gestures. A companion watch app is designed for absoulte hand-free usage.
