Digitial Picture Communicator

UX, Tablet UI, Consumer Product

The Digital Picture Communicator project was one of the first projects that Objx developed with a start-up technology company. The goal was to design high-end and custom made niche products. Unlike typical digital picture frames, Voliti brought integrated video, voice and wireless technology with ease of use product interface. The objective of the project was to develop an interactive and accessible product experience for users who wanted to share their happy moments with family members and friends.

Digital picture communicator features included still picture capturing, VOIP, touch interface, data storage and video streaming over wireless network.

The design of the Digital Picture Communicator was inspired by modern architecture. The use of glass, ceramic and metal communicates high quality craftsmanship, authenticity and use of materials that were truly sustainable.

The user interface design consists of the three different usage modes for the Digital Picture Communicator. These three modes are displaying still pictures, phone book and video calling. The examples here are to show how the interface look and feel can tie these three different usages into one unified user experience. The main menu bar is at the bottom of the screen, so that it will not obstruct the viewing of the pictures or video. A neutral color scheme is used for this interface design to enhance the quality of the pictures without color interference.
